The New York Islanders are Leading the Eastern Conference?

I'm a pretty casual fan of the NHL. I don't really get too interested until playoff time. So you will have to excuse the fact that I just realized the New York Islanders are currently leading the Eastern Conference. I'm so used to them being terrible that it never dawned on me they might have a good season.

I think we all know why New York's "other hockey team" is doing so well this year: the Islanders Ice Girls, of course. We had them at #9 in our Ice Girls Rankings at the beginning of the year, but they sure seem to be making a case to rise up the list next year.
