Major League Baseball really needs to start getting on the cheerleader bandwagon. At least I can count on the Tampa Bay Rays to have a group of girls out there every night trying to get the fans riled up.

Baseball Is In The Air
And that means at least some of the teams in MLB are going to breaking out their new cheer squads. I'm really hoping the Tampa Bay Rays haven't done away with their squad. That might actually make me cry!

Tampa Bay Rays Cheerleaders
Tampa Bay Rays in are in dogfight in the American League East, and I am pulling for them over the Red Sox and the Orioles. Why, you may ask? Because they have cheerleaders, of course! Maybe if the Sox would pull some of the Bruins Ice Girls over to Fenway I could support Beantown.
They may not actually call them cheerleaders (officially they are the Ray Team), but let's call a spade a spade. The squad is full of young, energetic, pretty girls that are tasked with enhancing the game day experience for fans. That, ladies and gentlemen, is a cheerleader.

Tampa Bay Rays Cheerleaders Hoping For A Victory Tonight
The Rays and Yankees play their last head-to-head game of the regular season tonight, and it should be a good one. David Price is throwing for the Rays and C.C. Sabathia is on the mound for the Yanks. If anyone is still interested in baseball this time of year, you should probably check this one out.

Tampa Bay Rays Cheerleaders
I still prefer to call the Rays the Devil Dogs, but I can't even remember where that came from (I'm thinking Dan Patrick). I mean, Rays, seriously. You dropped the Devil because of some right-wing conservative protest, I'm sure. It's just a weak nickname. What's not weak, you ask? The Rays' cheerleaders, of course.
