In a complete about-face by the organization, the
Philadelphia Flyers announced
via Twitter they are bringing back their ice girls! As you might expect, the new all-male ice cleaning crew was met with a resounding chorus of boos when they took the ice the other night. So team management listened to their fans are holding
tryouts this weekend for a new team of ice girls!
This is very good news, especially in the aftermath of losing the
Florida Panthers Lady Panthers and the
New Jersey Devils Dancers. It has been a dark off-season for
NHL ice girls, but maybe this reversal of fortune in Philadelphia will have an effect on some of these other front offices.
